The government of the Republic of Korea, with grave concern, is closely monitoring the developments in the Middle East involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, and is actively undertaking multifaceted efforts to ensure the safety and protection of Korean nationals currently in the region, as well as to safeguard our economic security, including the stable supply of energy resources.
As a country concerned with the North Korean nuclear issue, the Republic of Korea is firmly committed to upholding the international non-proliferation regime. On this basis, the ROK has been participating in the international community's efforts to resolve the Iranian nuclear issue.
The government of the ROK hopes that the current situation in the Middle East will be resolved in accordance with the universal values and principles of the international community. To this end, the ROK government hopes that a process of dialogue will ultimately be restored and that peace and stability in the region will be swiftly reestablished through negotiations.
